Dissolved iron in water is a common and troublesome problem. Even small amounts of iron can cause serious issues. For example, iron in the water supply can lead to pipe corrosion and blockage which in turn can negatively affect the tastes of food and beverages. Ion exchange equipment and pressurized media filter systems can be used to successfully remove iron from water. By combining WATERPLUS® filter tanks with our OXIPLUS® line of media we can effectively remove dissolved and suspended iron from your water source. With any filter tank system, media selection is the key to achieving the desired result. We offer numerous media options to effectively treat your water.

Manganese Removal

While manganese in water doesn’t necessarily present a health hazard, it can result in an unpleasant taste and unsightly black stains and deposits

While manganese in water doesn’t necessarily present a health hazard, it can result in an unpleasant taste and unsightly black stains and deposits. Manganese can be difficult to remove from water as it can take on different forms, which must be treated separately. For this reason, it is important to have a water analysis completed so we can determine what the best course of treatment is. WATERPLUS® media filters when combined with OXIPLUS® media can be operated at elevated pH levels in conjunction with oxidizing agents and can be an effective solution.

Particulate Removal

Removing particulates from water can be challenging due to the large range of particle sizes. Some particles may be too small to filter by convention

Removing particulates from water can be challenging due to the large range of particle sizes. Some particles may be too small to filter by convention methods whereas other particles may be quite large and visible to the naked eye. In certain cases, particulate removal requires a multi-stage system including a WATERPLUS® clarifier and a media filtration tanks. The clarifier uses flocculants and/or coagulants to group the small particles together and speed up the settling process while the media tanks filter out the remaining particulate.
