John Barelli founded Pure Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer’s representative company focused on water treatment for large industrial users in 1989. Sensing a void in the marketplace, in 1998 John renamed the company Surplus Management, Inc. and began concentrating on investment recovery. In 1999, John rebranded the company as Watersurplus and rolled out a new website. In 2010, Watersurplus purchased and renovated its current headquarters and now proudly employs over twenty people working to serve the needs of its customers.
Prior to starting his own business John worked as a Technical Salesman Applications Engineer at Illinois Water Treatment. John graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Northern Illinois University.

Dileep Agnihotri, PhD

Dr. Dileep Agnihotri, an expert in chemistry, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, produced water treatment and membrane technology, is the Chief Technology Officer at Watersurplus. Dileep is responsible for process engineering and the innovation of new technology at Watersurplus.
Prior to joining Watersurplus, Dileep founded Advanced Hydro, Inc. where he commercialized a novel membrane technology and integrated turn-key UF/RO systems for the treatment of wastewater in the oil and gas industry and for seawater desalination. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors for Thermo Energy, LLC, was a principal at 21 Ventures, LLC, providing capital for technology ventures and director of Jordan Valley Semiconductors Inc., where he managed technology and applications development and strategic/technical product marketing. Dr. Agnihotri holds a PhD in Nuclear Chemistry and a Master’s of Science in Physical Chemistry from the University of Rochester. He also earned a Master’s of Science in Physics from Agra University. He has published more than 30 articles and has several pending and issued patents.

Jon Reinke, an expert in high purity water systems, has served as Vice President of Engineering at Watersurplus since 2010. Jon is responsible for high level engineering reviews and business planning. He also focuses on Watersurplus’ increasing rental fleet, end user efficiencies and total plant optimization consulting.
Jon also owns an independent consulting firm and prior to joining Watersurplus he was Applications/Project Engineer at US Filter/Interlake Water Systems and was a Mechanical Designer/Mechanical Engineer at Illinois Water Treatment. Jon earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University.

Jim Groose, an expert in water chemistry, groundwater treatment, municipal water treatment, activated carbon and filtration, is the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Watersurplus. Jim brings his extensive experience in the development of successful programs for the sale and rental of water treatment equipment to Watersurplus. Jim is responsible for overseeing all sales, marketing and rental activities for the company.
Jim is a member of the American Water Works Association, the American Chemical Society and the Technical Association of the Pulp &amp; Paper Industry and he has presented over twenty papers at regional and national venues for the water and wastewater industry. In addition to his M.B.A. from Marquette University, Jim earned an M.S. in Water Chemistry, a M.S. in Water Resources Management and a B.S. in Biochemistry, all from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Warren Mathieu, an expert in reverse osmosis water treatment and ion exchange resin systems, is the Vice President of the New Equipment Division at Watersurplus. Since joining Watersurplus in 2000, Warren has developed partnerships with original equipment manufacturers allowing Watersurplus to stock and showcase hundreds of new products.
Prior to joining Watersurplus, Warren was Regional Sales Manager at both U.S. Filter and Sybron Chemicals working in Sales and Accounting at Illinois Water Treatment. Warren earned a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting at Rockford College.

Jeff Anderson, highly experienced in water treatment equipment and resin regeneration, is the Vice President of the Surplus Equipment Division at Watersurplus. Since joining Watersurplus in 2002, Jeff has been buying and selling surplus water treatment equipment. His customer service skills have helped Watersurplus develop its valuable network of over 10,000 water professionals in more than 80 countries around the world.
Prior to working at Watersurplus, Jeff was the Resin Regeneration Facility Manager for Environmental Dynamics Corp and worked in the Resin Regeneration Facility for US Filter/Illinois Water Treatment. Jeff attended Rockford College.

Steven Johnson, an expert in operations management, processes and the water treatment industry, is the Vice President of Operations at Watersurplus. Since joining Watersurplus in 2012, Steven has brought internal infrastructure and procedural processes to the business operations, increased production efficiency and improved quality. Steven oversees all engineering and production of refurbished and new equipment, plant safety, facilities maintenance, inventory, and shipping and receiving.
Steven held several management positions at US Filter/ Illinois Water Treatment including: Manager of Market Development Specialty Separations Group, Manager of Application Engineering and Manager of Engineering of the Warren N.J. facility. Steven graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Product Development.
Vice President of Operations
Kevin Treptow, is the Service Manager for Watersurplus. Kevin’s background is in project management and electrical engineering. As Service Manager he is responsible for providing field services to customers for projects that include new water systems, surplus rebuilds, rental services, turnkey installations, RO membrane change outs and CIP of RO skids. His attention to detail, organization, communication and commitment to customer focus and satisfaction makes him a key team member.
Immediately prior to joining Watersurplus, Kevin was the Manufacturing Manager for Ecolab and prior to that he was Senior Project Manager and Electrical Project Engineer at Illinois Water Treatment. Kevin earned a B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology from the DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois.
